- Using a HT with a duck on 1.2GHz sounds not such a great idea. Being
- less than 10% away from 1.3GHz, near H2O's resonant freq (if the above
- is correct that it is or was 1.3GHz for microvave ovens). How selective

- using a HT on 1.2gigs with a duck?

- My strong advice to you is to carry your ht in your pocket, and when you
- want to communicate, park the bike and use the ht by hand. As a veteran
- (survivor) of motorcycle mobile operations, it's my opinion that keeping
- yourself alive on the bike is a full-time job; I found a radio a dangerous
- distraction. I ride in a high-traffic area, and it takes all my
- concentration to ride safely; I don't seem to have any attention to spare
- for schmoozing on the radio. I know lots of folks do this on ham and cb,
- but I found it much too distracting. Ham radio and motorcycling are both
- great hobbies, but in my experience, they don't mix. 73, and safe riding...
